Citroën DS 19 Prestige “Administration” by Henri Chapron, 1967 (Sold)

Very rare Citroën DS 19 Prestige R.H.D from April 1967 “Frogeye” model. This car left the Chapron factory on the 2nd of May 1967 to be sold to the French embassy in South Africa. Black with 2 tone interior (grey cloth on the rear seats and black leather for the chauffeur).
Partition fitted with ashtray, light switches, clock, glove box and manually operated sliding window. This car was used by French diplomats in South Africa and therefore, it is fitted with a rare and original purpose built flag pole holder in the central bonnet of the car with the addition of a French blue, white and red “cocarde”(badge) that would be illuminated when the car is on diplomatic duty, an internal telephone (not operational), lockable rear doors, specific “Prestige” rear ceiling light etc..
Black paintwork (AC200) with black painted B and C pillars typical of the diplomatic Citroen DS, semi-automatic gearbox. Excellent condition inside out with many new parts fitted . Henri Chapron factory #6256, French diplomatic number #CC37345 (Corps Consulaire) , Certificate of authenticity from Chapron dated 2018, original 1967 “english version” handbook.
